Never Trust A Cold War Liberal (Reposted)

February 11, 2020

THIS NEW QUOTATION, FROM THE SENILE SENATOR BS,
MAKES IT NECESSARY TO REPOST:

Never trust a “Cold-War Liberal”
They are war-happy.
You can spot them by the repeated warnings they issue about Russia and China.
Mostly Russia.
Cold-War Liberals live in the past.
In a dangerous past.
But to them, in their old age, in their dotage, it is a glorious past.
They are elderly now and the past is all they have left.
It is who they are, because it is who they were.
They cannot look forward.
This is not a game.
The world needs new ideas and new plans.
The end result of the vaunted “thirty years of experience” Hillary Clinton’s “Withers” cite for their candidate is… precisely where we are right now.
The people who put us here, right here, where we are right now, did it deliberately and they will not change things. This is what they want.
Unless we got here by accident, in which case, that much-touted “thirty years of experience” means absolutely nothing.
And if you want to see change: YOU ARE A SOCIALIST TOOL OF PUTIN AND CHINA!!!!
You know you have heard this empty imprecation again and again.
So how can you expect change from someone who denounces change?
See how cold-war senility works?
They got away with that garbage in the 50s and 60s.
These old people saw their dead parents doing it.
So the Cold-War Liberals need to re-live their youth.
But their youth has evanesced.
It is no more.
It is gone.
Elect a Cold-War Liberal aching to recreate her or his heyday of youth and potency, and there will be war, misery, and blood. These old people need war, misery, and blood to feel alive again.
The day of the Cold-War Liberal is over.
THIS is what the exemplary, much-admired Cold-War Liberal had to say about war:
“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This much we pledge–and more.”
That means regime change.
That means war.
That is from a liberal hero.
We step back to those days at our own peril.
The world is different now. We cannot attack with impunity.
People hit back.
Remember that:
People hit back.

UPDATE:

Now the NY Times reports that Hillary Clinton, in a secret speech revealed by WikiLeaks, has announced her passion for SECRET WARS (click here).
She touts the joys of “covert-intervention,” to use the NY Times euphemism.
Covert-Actions.
CoIntelPro was covert action
Installing the Shah as dictator of Iran was covert action
Killing Salvador Allende was covert action
Overthrowing Guatemala was covert action
The Bay of Pigs was covert action
The bloodthirsty School of the Americas was covert action
LBJ’s Operation Chaos was covert action
Sabotaging the Democratic Primary was TYPICAL covert action
Henry Kissinger is covert action personified
And Mrs. Clinton LIKES THIS?
Wants MORE of it?
Is she insane?
The Times writes: “Mrs. Clinton gave a tough-minded, realpolitik answer to the question of how to handle a problem like Syria. If the best chance of success was to act secretly inside that country, she made clear, she had no problem doing that.”
Oh… She has no problem doing that? How lofty of her.
Unfortunately for this elderly
termagant THE WORLD HAS A PROBLEM WITH YOU DOING THAT, you war-crazy maniac!
Mission Impossible was TV FANTASY. Not a Foreign Policy Primer.
I will not vote for more wars.
Especially secret wars. You know, like NIXON IN CAMBODIA which led to this:

1971

This is a democracy, despite what this Cold War Neoliberal thinks.
As to the Times: saying her call to secret war is “tough-minded, realpolitik” is not journalism, it is editorializing. You are putting lipstick on that pig.

How much more NIXONIAN will Clinton reveal herself to be?
She may well take the White House, this bloodthirsty Cold War Neoliberal, but not with my consent.

new-nixon

FURTHER UPDATE:

Late in October, Tim Kaine CONFIRMED that Hillary’s first action will be to ask Congress for unlimited war powers.
As with all neocons, which the Cold War Liberals have spawned, Hillary actually believes that in wartime the nation will unite. She is a big step into the past. Cold War Liberals are in their dotage now and should just take the gold watch then go home to their republican grandchildren.

If you don’t remember the hysteria over
COMMUNISTS and RUSSIANS trying to take over
the world, and want to see what it was like…
click the image below…

ALTERNATE HISTORYThis jingoistic fantasy from 1947 presents the sort of INSANITY Cold War Liberals still have orgasms over. To this day these senescent twits obsess over Russia. We still hear to this day, for example, that it’s those crafty Russians who somehow whipped up racial animosities in America, bringing about lynchings and Jim Crow.

A classic piece of vintage paranoia from 1947 – the dawn of Harry Truman’s Cold War. Just two years earlier, Soviet Russia was our ally. Then suddenly, they became The Evil Empire bent on taking over America. This comic book presents a wild fantasy on the theme of America falling to the dirty commies. A valuable look at a moment in history, painstakingly restored digitally and enhanced! No other version looks this good!
A must for understanding the roots of today’s lingering fear and hatred of Russia and the Russians.
It all traces back to our government’s Post-War need for a perpetual enemy in order to “unify” the people and keep America on a permanent wartime military footing. As we see to this very day, in the Pentagon’s bloated and ever-expanding budget as well the constant saber-rattling of elderly politicians and the more aged of the Baby Boomers… it worked all too well.

A Civil Question About Brexit

February 6, 2020

It’s over. It’s done. IL FINITO. After a seemingly endless period of hemming and hawing, Britain has finally said ADIEU to the European Union. Well, we all knew this was coming. My question about this state of affairs is a simple one: Now that the Brits have left, when will the other European countries started bombing them? When do the invasions commence? After all isn’t that what happened in our own history when some Southern states left the American union in the 1800s? It always struck me as odd that a nation built upon seceding from England would go berserk when some of its own states wanted independence. What is the United States, the Mafia or the Central intelligence Agency? Once you join you stay in for life? Forever? You can’t leave? Why not? Even Ireland now has divorce. Cutting its ties with a “parent” nation is how this country was founded. Should we not have honored the Southern states request to do the same? The damage the Civil War did to the nation remains with us. We see it almost daily in the news.

In terms of carnage the American Civil War ranks right up at the top of the list, at #1 as our most brutal, bloody conflict:
405,399 Americans died in World War II.
25,000 died in the Revolutionary war.
The death toll in the civil war stands at 620,000.
America suffered 50,000 casualties at Gettysburg alone.

There had to have been a better way… Suppose President Lincoln and the Congress had said to the Confederate States of America: You want to set up shop on your own? Okay. We see your point. You’re free to go. Nobody understands better than us the concept of breaking ties with an existing government that you find disagreeable. We once wrote an entire document based just on that notion. It’s called Declaration of Independence: “When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve political bands which have connected them with another…” So, yeah, we really do get it. Been there done that, right? So hasta la vista, Bubba. See you around campus. Um, there’s just one more thing. About those slaves…

You want your slaves? Go for it. But just remember this: as a sovereign nation you’ll have to have treaties with us. And we simply won’t sign treaties and buy your products if they result from slave labor. So good luck with your cotton harvest. It won’t do you a bit of good. Our factories will never use it. We will outlaw slave products and get cotton elsewhere. We can also live without peanuts very well, bless your heart. Oh, and we have treaties in place around the world which you will no longer be party to. So we will make sure that no other nation deals with you until you bestow full freedom and citizenship rights to those slaves.

Can you imagine what that would have been like? This is pretty much how the world convinced the repressive South African government to get rid of their odious apartheid system. And, while we’re on the subject, that was more of a plan than Lincoln had. Oh, sure, he delivered his Emancipation Proclamation. But that only freed slaves in the states that rebelled, and the CSA did not recognize the USA so the proclamation was a feeble gesture at best.

All Lincoln fixated on was “saving” the Union come hell or high water and nothing or nobody mattered. As Honest Abe wrote to newspaper man Horace Greeley on August 22, 1862.

“I would save the Union. I would save it the shortest way under the Constitution. The sooner the national authority can be restored; the nearer the Union will be ‘the Union as it was.’ If there be those who would not save the Union, unless they could at the same time save slavery, I do not agree with them. If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could at the same time destroy slavery, I do not agree with them. My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union.” (Emphasis in Lincoln’s original)

Now I ask you: Does that sound like a man who passionately wanted to end the horrid, unspeakable practice of using human beings as farm machinery? Not to me it doesn’t.

Europe has a barbaric history of almost constant warfare and invasion among its constituent societies. I did not refer to “nations” because war in Europe was a way of life even before the continent had nations. All the borders of the various European countries represent places where warring factions got tired of fighting each other and grudgingly worked out a truce. Till the next time.

Just think of the millions of soldiers and civilians who died in the so-called World War that started in 1914 and ended in 1945 (with 20 years off after 1918 to regroup). About 125 million got wiped out. In THUD’S own family, during the first part of the war my own Grandfather fought in the German Cavalry while his American Brother-in-Law fought “Over There” with the Allied Expeditionary Forces. And they loved each other! How twisted is that? It’s like the tales of brother fighting brother in our own Civil War. Twisted, yes, and utterly pointless.

The part of the 20th Century European bloodbath we call World War 2 killed off a staggering 3% of the entire world’s population. That’s as much as the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic wiped out. Something had to be done about that. The EU was it. The whole point of the European Union was to bundle all the historic European enemies together with a common monetary unit so there would, theoretically, be no financial profit from invading and conquering each other. That’s how little they trusted each other even at the end of the 20th Century.

So now after coy hesitation, Britain has pulled out. Already there’s talk of them returning to the fold – just as the CSA would very likely have eventually returned to the USA. But whodathunk that Britain would want to go back within a few months? Maybe bombing and invading is not necessary after all… whodathunk…

Since we’re tinkering with history here,
how about this?

WAR IS A RACKET!

Two-Time Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Gen. Smedley D. Butler’s world-famous essay on the horrors and the futility of war. Peeling away the patriotic veneer always used to get people to support war, Butler reveals – as only an insider can – why we go to war, who is behind it and who profits.

This edition contains a FACSIMILE of the original 1935 edition. And much more!

At the height of the Great Depression, a gang of Wall Street businessmen, alarmed by what President Franklin D. Roosevelt was doing to spur the economy, decided to overthrow the government and remove FDR. The plan – known as The Business Plot – called for rallying disaffected WW1 Veterans under a leader who could unite them. That man, these plotters, thought, was Maj. Gen. Butler. They tried to win Butler to their cause with a promise of making him the new national leader. They could not have been more mistaken!

This book has a special section detailing Butler’s role in revealing this treasonous plot. And for the first time, we present recently declassified documents from Smedley Butler’s FBI file!

Together with Butler’s original essay, this look at The Business Plot paints a more full picture of one of history’s great men.
