Fabled P&G Bar To Move A Few Blocks

Well, after 60 glorious years, it has finally happened. The quintessential NYC corner Bar P&G’s on the Upper West Side has lost it’s lease.  They will be moving just a few blocks over but the 20 year lease will keep it safe from predacious property owners (folks, please banish from your lexicon the word landlord.  Feudalism is over, although looking at the divide between rich and poor you could be forgiven for not noticing. End of digression.) Last year when the bar first became imperiled by a greedy building owner, a contingent of fellow neighborhood bar denizens left Hell’s Kitchen in midtown to show support for P&G’s by hoisting a few and signing the petition to stay. They brave and hearty group left from landmark Bar “Rudy’s Bar & Grill,” operating at one location since Prohibition. A semi pie-eyed videographer accompanied the safari:
